Our study group met on December 8th for our preliminary meeting. Our goal is to revamp the Newark Valley Central School Guidance Plan which has not been updated in many years. Our group consists of the district's middle school counselor & the two high school counselors.
To start we met with our Teacher Center Director, George Lohmann, to review common core standards and 21st Century Skills. Our intent is to incorporate these into our updated plan. We reviewed the NYS Comprehensive Model and briefly reviewed 3 plans that represent 3 different districts. We discussed our Action Plan.

Read Part 100
Review the Voorheesville Plan from the NYSCCA website
Set up a template for our plan
Review our current plan and delete outdated activities
Update our plan integrating common core & 21st Century skills activities
We will meet four more times with the goal of having the plan completed by 5/1/12
Next meeting will be February 1st.
