March Meetings

We ended up meeting on March 15th & 21st since our original date in Feb. ended up being an early release day due to weather. We do feel like we're finally accomplishing something... we all recently attended a NYSSCA regional workshop at Binghamton University and Lisa was able to participate in a workshop on a regionally developed plan. We utilized this plan as a springboard and were able to make positive steps in creating our own. The first piece outlines our district mission and the Pupil Personnel Team Mission followed by the NY Standards Domains for School Counseling. We were able to break each domain down and included important pieces for each. This will be a document that will be helpful for anyone in the district regarding the role of the school counselor. We then began to work on our curriculum mapping piece by Domain and have brainstormed the many things that are done through out the year, organized them by domain and now need to put them into the curriculum map format. This has been a challenging process for us but we are beginning to feel like we are accomplishing something valueable. We will meet in April to finalize the mapping and create our end product.
